Our Process

How We Build Our Springs, From Start to Finish

Phase 1

Wire

Our springs are manufactured using ASTM 229 Class 2 OTMB (oil-tempered) wire, sourced directly from steel made in America.

Phase 2

Coil

We offer a wide range of wire sizes, from .207 to .343, and adjust our winding machines for each size. These machines wind the wire into the shape you see, ensuring consistent quality and accuracy for every spring, regardless of the wire size.

Custom Sizing

Phase 3

Bake

After winding the springs, we place them in a computer temperature controlled oven, where they bake at 550 degrees. The baking time varies depending on the wire size. This process restores the spring's elasticity. When the wire is wound, it experiences stress at the bending points. Baking the springs realigns the molecules, allowing them to regain their original elasticity.

Phase 4

Therma-Dep® Coating

Immediately after the springs come out of the oven, they are coated using the Therma-Dep® polymer coating process. This protective coating helps reduce rust and corrosion while maintaining long-term durability. It also provides a smooth, clean finish that enhances the overall appearance of the spring.

Phase 5

Color Code

The end of each spring is painted with an industry-standard color, making it easy to identify the spring based on its wire size.

Phase 6

Cone

Once each spring is properly painted, both ends of the spring are coned. A black cone indicates the spring is left-hand wound, while a red cone signifies a right-hand wound spring. This color-coded system creates a clear and efficient identification, helping to avoid any confusion during use.

Phase 7

Package

The final step is getting your springs to you. Orders under 8 pairs (16 springs) ship via FedEx. Pallet orders are securely wrapped in plastic to keep the springs stable and protected during transit.
